It is August, 2019. This year, Budapest hosts the European Maccabi Games.

PM Orbán received the delegation of the games and leaders of the Hungarian Jewish community in his office right before the official start of the games. The event (which kicked off on July 30th) has a record number of participants in its 90-year history: 2300 athletes from 42 countries compete in the games, which concludes on August 7th.

How is it possible that the delegation of the European Maccabi Games is received by a Prime Minister that left-liberal parties always brand „anti-Semite”?

Before we answer that, it is worth noting that the leftist and liberals have always been really adept at name calling. It is an experiment anyone can try: whenever you disagree on something with a liberal, it is guaranteed that within minutes, you will be branded a fascist, a populist, an anti-Semite, a hatemonger, or something along those lines, even if everything you have said is perfectly logical.

The main issue here, however, is not the name-calling of liberals. What we see here is that they are manufacturing fake news. After all, if Jews are not afraid to come to a country lead by a supposedly „anti-Semite” Prime Minister, than there are not a lot of options: either Viktor Orbán is terrible at being an anti-Semite, or whoever claims that he is, is a liar.

But why would left-liberals go on with this propaganda when it is clearly untrue? An educated guess would be that this endeavour of theirs is motivated by desperation.

Let’s look at the facts.

Hungary has a Jewish population of around 100 000. The Hungarian PM regularly emphasizes the importance of protecting the Judeo-Christian values of Europe. Which is why the Hungarian government helped finance the renovation of the synagogue in Szabadka, for example. It is also worth mentioning that Rabbi Menachem Margolin of the European Jewish Association has deemed Orbán „a stalwart defender of Israel on the world stage”.

The Jewish community is blooming in Hungary, but what about the Western part of Europe?

In France, people of Jewish background have practically been forced to move out into the suburbs from city centres. As the video recording shows, 10 hours of walking in Paris as a Jew is not a pleasant experience to say the least:

Not the mention that Jewish buildings are protected military personnel in Paris.

What about Germany, where attacks against Jews are painfully common? The President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany has warned against growing anti-Semitism – at one point he urged Jews not to wear kippahs (traditional skullcaps) in Germany.

So what is happening here? How is it that a government with a strong anti-immigrant rhetoric has a better relationship with the Jewish community than countries where liberal slogans like tolerance, acceptance and diversity have a greater influence?

We’ll help with the answer: being against immigration does not mean you are a fascist, or a hatemonger, or a populist. It means you have common sense. It means you do not preach tolerance (like the liberals do), but practice it. Why? Because you understand how tolerance works, and that not everyone should be tolerated equally, otherwise there will be serious conflicts. Muslim immigrants, for instance, seem to have a seriously different interpretation of tolerance than the liberals. Experience has shown this, as you can see above.

And that is why the liberal bloc desperately tries to paint Viktor Orbán as an anti-Semite: because he is anything but anti-Semitic. On the other hand, liberals are swiftly losing control in this debate. The more they preach tolerance and diversity, the more they will have to realise that Islam is going to go after the Jewish population of Europe, and the damage it will do is guaranteed to be more severe than anything PM Orbán can criticise George Soros for.
