In the past weeks, Hungarian candidate Olivér Várhelyi gained the European Commission’s enlargement and neighborhood post, despite the tireless efforts of pro-immigration political agents.

Anyone can guess the importance of the post considering that even multi-billionaire George Soros wanted to sabotage the appointment of Olivér Várhelyi. The pro-immigration „philanthropist” tried to enlist the help of Daniela Schwarzer, president of the German Council on Foreign Relation (DGAP). Soros hoped to use Schwarzer to influence German chancellor Angela Merkel and have Várhelyi's candidacy terminated. Needless to say, the endeavour failed.

Naturally, the question arises: what is the significance of the post?

The European Commission’s enlargement and neighborhood post covers energy policy, security and migration as well, considering that a lot of people are migrating through the Western Balkans route. It is easy to see then why Viktor Orbán said that the post would be “the most important” one in the next five years.
