The steps of reopening must be according to the number of vaccinated people – said Viktor Orban on Friday.
„The imposed restrictions will not be lifted until at least a week from Monday” – started the PM in his Friday morning interview on, Jó reggelt, Magyarország! (Good Morning, Hungary!).
The solution to all of the social and economical problems is vaccination,
according to Orban.
There are 4-5 times more newly vaccinated people weekly than the number of people falling ill.
Based on his plans, the first steps of reopening can take place when every registered person above the age of 65 received their dose of vaccine.
Today, the number of vaccinated people will exceed 1.5 million, from which 1.2 million have already received their Vaccine ID cards – these are facts.
Regarding Brussels' vaccine procurement plans, he said,
we wish we had not let them take care of it, because we believed that they could have taken care of it faster.
„We have forsaken our right to procure the doses ourselves, which we regret now”
– stated Orban.
He added that Brussels blew the procurements, and it was not the first mistake they had made. The first was that of migration.
Orban also mentioned the issue around AstraZeneca, they will ship 500,000 doses less than expected. This is why Hungary has to fill that gap with eastern vaccines in order to keep to the vaccination schedule.
„What we want from Brussels now is vaccines, not rules about the passports”
- laid down the PM.
Fake news is spreading about the virus and vaccination, and Orban asked the audience not to believe them.
„There are thousands of active vaccination points in Hungary„.

– clarified the PM.
The Hungarian leftist opposition did not stay put this week either, they attacked the government on Tuesday in the parliament. Viktor Orban answered their direct questions personally.
He has been accused of not helping the people during the pandemic to which he replied that during the crisis, he took many steps to help the Hungarian enterprises. He mentioned the wage subsidies, the moratorium of bank loans (which is actually the strongest in Europe), lowering taxes, remitting levies, and grant subsidies to save workplaces.
„We will provide more workplaces than the amount that the virus tore down”
– which is 55 thousand, said the PM.
„If you are interested in how to handle a crisis badly, knock on your allies' door. Ferenc Gyurcsany can give you great advice”
– replied Orban to provocative questions from the left.
